Don't be Darf'd! I have played Bioshock on the xbox360 and the pc in both directx 9 and 10... DirectX10 acheiving better performance at highier detail settings. There are noticably more particles and smoke effects with more realisitic lighting and shadows in the DX10 version that make things look a bit spookier. You loose alot of atmosphere on the xbox360 as you not so in the game I feel (although this may change my perception on a 40inch flat screen). FPS have also been a bit weird for me on a gamepad as don't get the totally immersive feel that you get from mouse aim, but i hear you can get used to it? Still this game really kicks the living shit out of some other FPS and movie based games a should be seen as a mile stone for whats to come (whatever system they are on). I hope the next releases follow in Bioshocks steps "Crysis"...

I purchased a computer to play this game for under $1000.00. I bought a windows xp system (refurbished) that had a dual core processor, 2 gig memory and 250gb hd. I then upgraded the power supply and bought a lower end 8800 off the internet for $199 on sale. For computer and graphics card and power supply, I paid about $850.00. Plays all the games I want with almost all the options on. So those that pay $3000 bucks, you seriously are wasting your money.

If you can tolerate the inaccuracy of the Xbox360 version and enjoy a game controller sure grab the 360. But this is a FPS, always best played with a precise KB and mouse not a dumbed down slow controller interface imo.

I picked up my spanky new Elite yesterday, only to find that the independent I got it from had sold all their allocated copies of Bioshock. The demo has definately left me wanting more :)

Its sooo good :D

Well, because Bioshock is a game that isn't actually formatted to run on directx 10, the only thing that would make any DX10 graphics cards produce better graphics than other cards is that they are overall just faster cards, and have more stream processors than older cards do (older cards actually have what are called pixel pipelines which are inferior to stream proccessors). So just to clear things up, in the case of Bioshock, it isn't the DX10 that will give it better graphics, it is the quality of the card that you have, and not its graphics platform.

hmm...so even dx10 hardware doesn't make so huge difference. That's interesting. I can't convince my flatmate to install this demo on his machine (8800gtx) because he plays it on Xbox. Well, looks like we've finaly received good game. I still remember feeling I've had playing both versions of system shock

Hey guys

Ive played this game on my xbox 360 and pc, my pc has a high end graphics card in it (8800 GTX), and seriously i payed $3000 AUD for my computer thinking i would get outstanding results, well i can tell u the difference is not big, the xbox actually wins in some areas. Going into detail.. the pc has better lighting and textures, they are the main things. When i played the xbox version the graphics actually looked sharper, the shaders were really good and the edges were smooth. Buying my pc was a big mistake... could of bought a 1080i tv for $3000. But if your fussy and want the absulute max graphics well go ahead and waste your money.

Thx tommy

I've played both demo versions, PC and XBox and as my GFX isn't DX10 I couldn't enjoy all that glory. To be perfectly honest I cancelled my pre-order for PC version and ordered XBox one as the difference in looks between DX9 and XBox isn't obvious. Anyway, I've had enough of PC and Win (it is like tamagochi), I am selling PC and buying macbook and big display, so I will have nice portable machine for all I need (graphic design web) and Xbox for playing games. And with the current life span of consoles and Mac I will safe loads of money while I spent on my PC in last two years over £2500. :) good luck with the game either on Xbox or PC, it rocks...I wish that Fallout 3 comes before Xmas, yes it does but next year:(
