Gears of War Done But Not Finished

I have been milking Gears of War all weekend. Got through the entire campaign in several long sittings and enjoyed every second of it (apart from the odd Berserker encounter ;-)). Strangely for me as soon as I was done I jumped right back into it, upped the difficulty and joined a co-op as Dom. The fact that I wanted to play this again straight away unlike anything else should speak for itself.

Oh and by the way if your going to play single player you may as well do so by just starting a new co-op game. This way as you are going through the game other players can jump in and help you out. You retain the saved progress and it might help you in some of the tougher fights.

I saw the vids of this game - what makes it so different? Everyone seems to be raving about it and it doesnt look especially new!?

Doesn’t look especially new?? What? Just play it.

    I would if i had a 360 :p
Seriously tho, what’s different about this to any other 3rdPS/Team Combat game?

    The combat.
    The graphics.
    The chainsaw.
    The gameplay.

    Read some reviews.

What I realy want to know is how you chart your progress on coop. I have played most of the game as don, but I am unable to get the final achievement for it as I do not know what chapters I have finished and those I have not. It would be good if the game had this option.

Yeh totally agree Martin. If you are going for that ‘finish the game as Dom’ achievement then it can be quite hard to figure out what chapters you missed if you jump in and out of games. I haven’t done it yet but I am trying to just go through one act at a time to be sure.

It’s a minor complaint considering the way single and co-op play is mashed together so well but it would definitely help the point seekers.
