I am very under the weather today, and have been shuddering and feeling bunged up all day. But for 43 minutes none of that seemed to matter or bother me in the slightest as Battlestar Galactica was on.
I know I have posted many times about how good it is, but once again this week it proved it’s head and shoulders above anything else around today, or, dare I say it - ever.
If you have never seen it, never considered watching it or have just dismissed it in the past I urge you to seek it out on DVD, TV, the internet or whatever and enjoy. You are truly doing a disservice to yourself if you let this one slip by. Seriously this time folks. Just watch it.
Just received my subscribers copy of PC Gamer and was shocked to turn the page and see a Mass Effect preview, previously only confirmed for Xbox 360. From the article,
Mass Effect will come to PC (it’s currently only announced for Xbox 360): it’s not been officially confirmed but we have it on good authority. It’s been three years since a BioWare developed game hit the PC: Mass Effect is a forceful reminder of why that’s too damn long.
Not officially anounced by BioWare yet but you can be safe in the knowledge the PC Gamer UK is a trust worthy source and would never have taken this to press if it were false.
UPDATE:
Here are some photos of the mag taken with my camera phone (sorry that’s all I have here right now)
HP notebook pc with high quality resolution screens and HP pc pdas , a mutipurpose device are about to capture major market share in respective industries. After hp notebook computers popularity, hp added web cameras to its product line. Web cameras are movie camera built specifically for capturing videos and displaying them on the internet.
Last week was a crazy few days for UFC with programs on almost every night. The legend Ken Shamrock retires, a brutal five round war is waged and Rich Franklin defeats himself before even stepping foot in the octagon. Tired? Not me but I feel many soon will be unless action is taken.
This is all great stuff that I am truly wrapped up in at the moment and can’t get enough of. However they do run the risk of burning out very quickly if they maintain this pace into 2007. More mega fights on the horizon include the rematches of Hughes vs. GSP next month and Ortiz vs. Liddell in December, two fights I am salivating over.
But after that where do they go next? Well Mr White said recently they are planning five shows for the UK next year. If you add that to the monthly PPVs and minimum of ten live Spike TV shows I start to wonder if they can really keep this super drawing business at such a high level for much longer.
The roster needed to be enhanced with more top level fighters this year but the UFC have failed to secure guys such as Rampage Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Matt Lindland, Heath Hearing and more. These are fighters who should have been brought in before now so they could earn their way into title contention in 2007. It’s all very well bringing in Anderson Silva and giving him a title shot after one fight but it won’t draw much money because mainstream fans (or even the bookies in this case) won’t believe in the challenger no matter how much international experience he has.
They have a great product right now and really don’t want to just see it explode and die. They need to invest now to protect their future.
- Fight did a 9.7 rating in males 25-34
- Fight did an 8.0 rating in males 18-34
- Show drew 4.2 million viewers overall, crushing Smackdown’s CW debut
- Fight did 5.7 million viewers, more than watched Raw or Smackdown last week
- Show drew more 18-34 men than any show on broadcast OR cable all day
- Highest rating for a night in males 18-34 and 18-49 in Spike history
- Broke the spike.tv website one-day unique viewers record
- Broke the old UFC quarter hour viewership record by 2 million viewers
Excellent stuff. I’m glad so many people got to see this rivalry come to an end in such a classy way. You heard the loud cheers for the Tito vs Chuck match in December when it was mentioned and following on from this I predict it should do the biggest buy rate in UFC history.
It doesn’t matter how powerful your PC is, Just Cause will never look as good as it does on the Xbox 360. Just take a look at the video I posted to YouTube below:
It’s almost as if all the shadows and HDR effects have been ripped out of the game. Why short change PC players like this? The option to enable the features should at least be available to those will powerful enough hardware. Added to this the lack of native widescreen support makes this look more and more like a direct port on the Xbox (not 360) version. Bad move Eidos, haven’t you ever heard of XNA?
