I’ve uploaded scans (click the thumbnails below) of the document Unite uses to base it’s fines on once people check out of their flats. I got charged for deep cleaning the bathroom (¬£12) and cleaning the fridge/freezer (¬£15) the later of which is ridiculous because they sent a whole team of Polish dudes in to clean it during the last week.
More funny though are the other charges. Apparently a crappy chest of drawers is worth ¬£140 and a chair that wouldn’t look out of place in a scrap yard is worth ¬£85. There are plenty of amusing ones on there so take a look below.

As I said “I got charged for deep cleaning the bathroom (¬£12) and cleaning the fridge/freezer (¬£15)…”.
I got charged £24 for a deep clean of the whole kitchen. They have given my money back for the piece of burnt carpet they tried to charge me for although it was already there when i moved in.
Why aren’t they splitting the communal charges between us all? I wasn’t charged for cleaning the whole kitchen but I was the only one with a freezer cleaning fine. Idiots!
Dunno, but a cleaning the fridge/freezer was one of the things listed on mine too. Perhaps they charged us all with a portion of clening the fridge. That means the fridge costing a total of about£100 to clean - surely its cheaper to buy a new fridge!
I got the ¬£24 kitchen charge too… we can’t really complain at that tho - it wasn’t exactly clean.
And did you leave a jacket in your room? there was one on the bed.
I did manage to empty the fuckin freezer before leaving and a certain food cupboard!!
